The Hong Kong Response Exhibition of the 17th Venice Biennale

Organised by The Hong Kong Institute of Architects Biennale Foundation (HKIABF) and Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC) with The Hong Kong Institute of Architects and Create Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Collateral Event at the 17th International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia.The Hong Kong Collateral Event at the 17^th Venice Biennale International Architecture Exhibition is currently underway in virtual approach in Venice, while the organisers will also launch the Hong Kong Response Exhibition in a physical format for the first time to welcome everyone to come and appreciate all exhibits up close. The exhibition will showcase the architects’ and other exhibitors’ social concerns and creative solutions on various social issues such as climate change, scarce land resources, heritage conservation, talent development, and more.

Hong Kong Response Exhibition will be held during 20 October and 15 December at the City Gallery.

‘Redistribution: Land, People, and Environment’ is the theme for the Hong Kong Collateral Event of this year’s Biennale. Led by Chief Curator Donald Choi, the curatorial team includes Paul Mui, Benny Lee, Agnes Hung, Ka-Sing Yu and Dr. Lee Ho Yin. The curatorial process encourages exhibitors to work collaboratively as a team with members from corporations, young architects, entrepreneurial designers, artists as well as researchers, academics, and those working for NGOs. Exhibitors have been tasked with proposing innovative ideas centred on the redistribution of three critical resources to enhance Hong Kong’s overall liveability.
