Yumurta (Egg), Süt (Milk), and Bal (Honey), namely the Yusuf trilogy, are a series of arthouse films directed by Semih Kaplanoğlu. Over its three instalments, Yumurta, Süt and Bal, the trilogy portraits the middle-age, adolescence and childhood of a central character, whose name is Yusuf, although not revealed by the Director if they are the same person. In Yumurta (2007), Yusuf is reminded of his younger self when he sees a young boy selling milk and collecting eggs from the household’s coop. In Süt (2008), Yusuf works as a milk seller, going from household to household to support his single mother even as he dreams of becoming a poet. Bal (2010) explores the love and respect between Yusuf and his father.

120 (2008) is a war time film directed by Murat Saraçoğlu and Özhan Eren based on the true story of 120 children who died in 1915 carrying ammunition for the Battle of Sarikamish during World War I. The film, which received support from the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, was shot over two years in harsh winter conditions on location in Safranbolu, Van and Istanbul, Turkey.
