Concert Cancellation: “Swire Maestro Series: Yu Long | Bernstein” on 7 & 8 Jan 2022

In view of the latest situation of COVID-19, further measures have to be adopted to maintain social distancing. All performance venues under the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, including the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, will be closed from 7 Jan to 20 Jan 2022.The advertised performances of “Swire Maestro Series: Yu Long | Bernstein” (7 & 8 Jan 2022) held at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall have been cancelled.

Music is an art that can suspend time or recreate it, and today the HK Phil’s distinguished Principal Guest Conductor Yu Long joins erhu player Yiwen Lu and star pianist Zee Zee to explore exactly what that means. Chen Qigang’s Un Temps Disparu is a ravishing modern Chinese classic, while Leonard Bernstein’s The Age of Anxiety is half symphony, half piano concerto – and every bit as entertaining as you’d expect from the composer of West Side Story.

The concert runs approximately 1.5 hours with an intermission.

The Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra (HK Phil) is one of the leading orchestras in Asia. The annual schedule focuses on symphonic repertoire, with conductors and soloists from all over the world.
