Happening on every Saturday from November 12th with 4 sessions in total, we invite you to join us for an in-depth course to teach you the foundations of traditional sculpting facilitated by John Gale.
The program includes on female life drawing (nude model), focus on human figure anatomy and time for lively conversation and afternoon tea!
Session 1: Observation and working sketches of the model. Armature construction and first clay layer, and defining profiles and feature locations.
Session 2: Complete the basic mass. Confirming feature locations and proportions.
Session 3 & 4: Detailing and expressions + surface finish

ABOUT THE ARTIST / ORGANISERJohn Gale is a British artist who focuses on drawing and sculpture. His work heavily emphasises human figure, movement, and contemplation, drawing inspiration from philosophy, mythology and most notably, Rodin's works including 'The Thinker' and 'The Fallen Caryatid'. John explores ideas around deep thought, and expresses a modernist viewpoint on 19th century concepts. Both complex and thought-provoking, his work demonstrates the transformation of his thoughts.
