EVENT DESCRIPTION

Notice:

Due to the Hong Kong Government’s decision to extend the closure of performance venues until 23 Feb 2022, and the uncertainty surrounding an exact time of re-opening, we have to reluctantly cancel this concert – for which the rehearsals and performance were to take place at Hong Kong City Hall Concert Hall.

Joint Celebration Concert of Hong Kong City Hall 60th Anniversary & Hong Kong Arts Festival 50th Anniversary

In the beginning, there was nothing. With the light, we can see our own reflection. The musicians enter, and dance with their instruments, with purpose and intent. The dancers join, as they support the musicians in their purpose and intent. The artists create a picturesque image with a ray of infinite light, which is reflected and refracted by the acrylic partitions, multiplying until it spills over into the audience, creating a kaleidoscope.

The kaleidoscope is neither now nor the future. It is the hope created from the past, for the future, hidden in the sound passing through the air, as the reflections and refractions reveal the things you thought you did not know, or have forgotten…
