In this edition of Make Music, Hong Kong!, we are going to present 11 European music bands and artists from 8 countries!

In addition to online dedicated concerts on makemusichk.com and Make Music, Hong Kong! YouTube channel, Heidi Li Quartet will be performing live on June 19 in Freespace, West Kowloon Cultural District as well thanks to the support of the Istituto Italiano di Cultura.

Let’s enjoy the summer and celebrate la Fête de la Musique (World Music Day) with us, spread the joy of music! Highlights from the dedicated concerts will also be played at The Box, Freespace at the Festival!

Make Music, Hong Kong! is co-presented by Alliance Française de Hong Kong, Consulat Général de France à Hong Kong et Macao , co-funded by European Union in Hong Kong and Macao with the support and participation of the Austrian Consulate General Hong Kong and Macao, Consulate General of Hungary Hong Kong, Consulate General of Ireland to Hong Kong and Macau, Istituto Italiano di Cultura Hong Kong, Consulado Geral de Portugal em Macau e Hong Kong , Consulado General de España en Hong Kong and Consulate General of Switzerland in Hong Kong and Macao.

ABOUT THE ARTIST / ORGANISER

Make Music, Hong Kong! music festival was created in 2018 by Alliance Française de Hong Kong and the Consulate General of France in Hong Kong and Macau. It is co-funded by the European Union Office to Hong Kong and Macau, with the participation of European countries’ consulates or institutions. It is a Special Event within French May Arts Festival.

“Make Music, Hong Kong!” is preceded by Music Day, which Alliance Française de Hong Kong has organised since 1985. Make Music, Hong Kong music festival is inspired by the Fête de la Musique which originated from France. The national music festival in France is widely celebrated on 21st June around the world, the day of the summer solstice in the Northern hemisphere. Make Music, Hong Kong! ’ showcases a mix of amateur and professional artists of local or foreign origins. Every year, around 30 local bands and half a dozen European bands are presented to the Hong Kong public in remarkable cultural venues. Previous festival locations include Tai Kwun and Fringe Club, both of which are historical landmarks of the city.
