Hong Kong: Through Australian Eyes

EVENT DESCRIPTION

Hong Kong and Australia have been connected for more than 200 years – dating back to a period when the first Cantonese-speaking migrants ventured south to seek opportunities in the “New World”.

Ever since then, the movement of people between Hong Kong and Australia has grown, fostering deep links between our two communities, including through trade, education, tourism and extended family connections.

The “Hong Kong: Through Australian Eyes” exhibition explores these links through the lenses of four Australian photographers who have chosen to live and work in Hong Kong.  It reveals the artists’ own relationships with Hong Kong’s natural and built environments, and seeks to create an understanding of the common ways in which we see our daily lives.
