EVENT DESCRIPTION

Free improvisation and experimentations with sound and moving image

The Experimental Lab brings together more than 20 Hong Kong-based musicians from a range of musical backgrounds and with expertise in a variety of styles and traditions – jazz, sound art, contemporary classical, electronic noise, world music and more. In five sessions of mixed constellations, the artists embark on impromptu experiments that challenge traditional preconceptions, illustrate the dynamic energy of sound, and open serendipitous possibilities for new creative paths. Complete with moving images and lighting design, the sessions also offer a glimpse into a little known side of Hong Kong’s music scene.
