En Voyage with Claude Monet

EVENT DESCRIPTION

En Voyage with Claude Monet, an exclusive immersive experience of works by French painter Claude Monet, will make its debut in Hong Kong from 27 October 2022 to 15 January 2023. Edit: Extended until 26 February 2023.

This unprecedented mega event is brought to Hong Kong by the world-renowned Belgium creative studio Dirty Monitor and ChillHoYeah in Hong Kong. During the said period, a giant Immersive Hall will be specially built at Cultural Plaza, West Kowloon Cultural District. Thanks to the generous support from title sponsor C C Land Holdings Limited, venue partner the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority and other supporting parties which makes this production possible.

Approximately 200 artworks of the master of Impressionism Claude Monet will be brought to life through a spectacular 360 degrees sound and light show in this 36-minute unique digital art exhibition. In addition, iconic works of the artist will serve as a dedicated selfie area inside and outside the Immersive Hall, creating another highlight to this brand-new event space next to the Xiqu Centre. Visitors will also be able to enter a thrilling Virtual Reality (VR) tour of Monet’s house in Giverny through dedicated headset.

With over 2,000 paintings, sketchbooks and drawings, Monet was a very prolific artist whose painting “Impression Soleil Levant” (“Impression of Sunrise”) gave its entire name to the Impressionist movement.

Bridging poetic works of the past with technology of the future, En Voyage with Claude Monet invites us to travel far from Hong Kong to the shores of Venice, London or the Normandy, following the course of the sun, as seen through the genius eyes of the artist. The audience becomes a part of his travels and shares in his quest for colors, light and water reflections.

The Belgium-based company Dirty Monitor is a world-acclaimed creative studio, which gained international recognition as pioneers in the field of content conception for video mapping and other audiovisual productions. They have been collaborating for almost 20 years with globally renowned directors, musicians, agencies, brands, and other great names. Today, after many multi-awarded immersive and interactive exhibitions such as Van Gogh, Klimt and The Smurf Experience, Dirty Monitor is very proud to bring Monet of the past under a new light!

Dirty Monitor chose the renowned Echo Collective to compose, produce and perform the original soundtrack to En Voyage with Claude Monet. Working as a team, Echo Collective’s Margaret Hermant, Neil Leiter, Gary De Cart, and Fabien Leseure, created an intimate and emotional score that enhances this magical production in 360 degree immersive sound.
