DFA Hong Kong Young Design Talent Award 2022

EVENT DESCRIPTION

The DFA Hong Kong Young Design Talent Award, which seeks to enlighten Hong Kong young designers’ creative thinking with a global perspective and to enrich their worldwide industry experience, is now open for applications until 12 July 2022. Award winners will receive financial support for embarking overseas work or study opportunities to gain global experience and unleash their creative potential.

The DFA HKYDTA awardees may receive up to HK$500,000 sponsorship to pursue 6 to 12-month work at renowned design companies or 6 to 18-month study at renowned institutes abroad. Hong Kong permanent residents aged 18 – 35 who are either designers or 2022 design graduates are eligible to apply.

ABOUT THE ARTIST / ORGANISER

The "DFA Hong Kong Young Design Talent Award" was established in 2005. It is one of the "DFA Design Awards" award schemes organized by the Hong Kong Design Centre and sponsored by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government "Create Hong Kong" , which aims to recognize and nurture creative Hong Kong designers and design graduates aged 18 to 35. The winners have the opportunity to be sponsored to go to work in famous overseas design companies or study in colleges and universities, so as to showcase their strengths and further enhance their design capabilities and professional knowledge. After completing overseas work or further studies, the winners can return to Hong Kong to contribute to the development of local design and creative industries.
