Taking William Shakespeare’s sonnets as inspiration, avant-garde physical theatre group Théâtre de la Feuille explores the mesmerising interplay between words and the movement of the body in this powerful play.

Bringing an innovative and modern twist to these classic works, the performers deconstruct Shakespeare’s poetry to lay bare the irony and fundamental of love.

Whether you are a Shakespearen scholar, a theatre buff, or just a fool for love, you’ll fall for this rollercoaster ride of action, drama, romance and revenge, all told through movement and spoken word.

This play will be performed in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

This programme is approximately 70 minutes without intermission.
In Cantonese, English and Mandarin, with Chinese and English surtitles.
Suitable for aged 6 or above.

ABOUT THE ARTIST / ORGANISER

Founded in 2010 in Paris by Wong Chun Tat (Ata), Théâtre de la Feuille is currently based in Hong Kong. Wong is one of the very few graduates of Chinese descent to have completed the two-year Introductory Course and The Laboratory of Movement Study at École internationale de théâtre Jacques Lecoq (Jacques Lecoq). In addition to his studies, Wong further pursued his career by attaining the Jacques Lecoq teaching certification in 2018.

Currently, Théâtre de la Feuille consists of twenty performers from different countries and backgrounds. The artistic approach of Théâtre de la Feuille is a creative product of east-meets-west, where the western pedagogy of Jacques Lecoq interweaves with the traditional arts of the East.

Apart from producing Théâtre de la Feuille high-quality theatre work that experiments with a diverse range of genre and topics, the company also aims to build up on its overseas touring portfolio. Up till now, Théâtre de la Feuille has travelled to more than eighty locations with one hundred and eighty overseas tours, including the United States, France, Italy, Croatia, Japan, Korea, Taiwan and different cities in China.
